Swastikas sprayed on commemorative bench

Police have appealed for help in tracing vandals who sprayed Swastikas on a commemorative bench dedicated to D-Day veterans.

Several areas within Twyford Woods in Lincolnshire were defaced with Swatikas in silver and white spray paint.

This included the commemorative bench, which the police said had been ‘extensively vandalised’.

The incidents are believed to have taken place between June 9 and 10.

Twyford Woods is the former home of RAF North Witham from where American aircraft took off for Normandy ahead of D-Day.
